Everyone at Thump would like to wish one of our Directors, Haydon, the best of luck as he takes on the gruelling Tour de Yorkshire bike ride on Sunday 1st May 2016. Having taken part in the event last year and after already completed the London to Paris ride last July, Haydon is full of confidence going into the 85km challenge.
Organised by the Tour de France owners (ASO) as well as Human Race (the UK’s largest mass participation company behind over 50 events in 2015), the sportive takes place on the same day as the third and final stage of the Tour de Yorkshire pro ride. This is a great opportunity for Haydon and hundreds of other riders in the UK to experience the Tour de France legacy. In what’s sure to be a physical and psychological battle, Haydon will be taking on many of the same roads as the pro cyclists.
After months of preparation, everyone in the office is excited to see just how well Haydon can do. He’s been working hard to raise money for the great cause that is the British Heart Foundation, so no matter what time he clocks up, it will certainly be an achievement to be proud of. He’s promised us a picture of him going over the top of the timed hill climb at the Cote De Harwood Dale, not that we’ve been asking for proof that he’s managed to do it!
