learndirect Operations Guide
learndirect is probably the best known provider of government-backed e-learning. Our involvement encompasses a number of large and complex projects for learndirect via a third party.
Aimed at managers, trainers and users of the initiative, the requirement was for highly sophisticated access to, and delivery of, information, self-testing, and tracking within elaborate administration systems.
The online 1,200-page Operations Guide gives hub managers access to key information for individual download. The site also permits updating by authorised personnel. A tracking system ensures that enquiries in the form of searches are logged, to highlight the comparative relevance of the various sections of the Guide. A useful facility for personalised notation is also provided.

Train the trainers and user learning.
Learning for users is delivered in the form of a set of interactive CD-ROMs, providing a portal to the online resource through which learning providers (trainers) can be contacted for information.
This major project involved a vast range of assets, including movies and sound recordings.
Each CD-ROM gives additional access to relevant web-based modules and a support forum. The CD content is comprehensive, with visual stimuli including movie clips and SFX. Each CD enables self-testing to periodically assess progress. In addition, trainers are able to access and download presentation tools.
The importance of the Welsh language for this project is such that we have provided a translated version, which is available at the click of a button.
